Real Madrid beat Auxerre today 4-0 in a match in which nothing was at stake other than the chance of ensuring the club's best start in the Champions League. Karim Benzema also scored the 300th goal of the team in the competition with the first of his three goals of the night. Xabi received the Lan Onari award which the Basque government grants to Basque personalities who excel in their disciplines and are considered role models, a medal for their work. These were handed out to him and others in a ceremony commemorating the 31st anniversary of the region's Autonomy Statute.
However there are no pics of that anywhere.
